Cristina Martorana is specialised in administrative and environmental law. She has deep experience in Italian and European administrative law (judicial and out-of-court), particularly in the regulated fields of energy and infrastructure with reference to issues related to the construction, acquisition or financing of plants that produce energy from renewable and conventional sources, network infrastructures, gas, district heating, waste to energy, trading as well as in environmental law, healthcare, PPP and public procurement. At the Legalcommunity Energy Awards 2016 she has been awarded “Lawyer of the Year for Administrative Environmental Law”. She is ranked among the Leading Individuals in the Energy sector by Chambers and Partners (Italy 2016-2020) which mentions interviewees describing her as "able to combine high-profile technical accuracy with a commercial mindset”. She was also mentioned as a Leading Individual in The Legal 500 in the Energy Industry Focus (Italy 2016-2018), in the 2020 edition testimonials say “Cristina Martorana: high professionalism combined with a charismatic personality”. In 2019 she was a speaker at an event organised by Banca Intesa, at its headquarters in London, where the Hon. Undersecretary Crippa also attended, to report on the regulatory aspects regarding to the implementation of the Energy and Climate Plan in relation to the 2030 objectives. She also presented the “Traditional and new instruments supporting renewable in the Italian Energy Transition” at the Energy Market Conference held in Frankfurt, Germany on 21 November 2019.
